Iran megastar Shahab Hosseini to make teleplay

Iranian superstar and Cannes-winning actor Shahab Hosseini is to helm a teleplay in Iran.

The permit was issued for a direct-to-DVD release by a respective council in Iran.

'The Salesman' earned Iranian Oscar-winning director Asghar Farhadi and actor Shahab Hosseini the awards for Best Screenplay as well as Best Actor at Cannes respectively.

Most recently, the movie grabbed an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards ceremony.

In 2011, Hosseini was a nominee for the Iran Cinema Celebration Golden Statue for his roles in 'About Elly' (2008) and 'Wandering in the Mist' (2009). At the same time, he won the prestigious Silver Berlin Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival for his memorable role in 'A Separation' (2010).
